Lauren Summer

Lauren Summer had a large Instagram following long before October 2019, but one evening at a baseball game made her name known far beyond it, and got her banned from every Major League Baseball stadium.

From Florida to modelling

Lauren was born in August 1994 in Apopka, Florida. She built her career as an editorial and swimwear model, with a big audience on Instagram and X, and co-founded the online magazine ShagMag with fellow model Julia Rose.

The World Series incident

On 27 October 2019, during Game 5 of the World Series between the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals in Washington, Lauren and Julia Rose, sitting behind home plate and wearing yellow ShagMag T-shirts, lifted their tops in the direction of Astros pitcher Gerrit Cole. The moment was broadcast live.

They were escorted out of the stadium, and MLB then banned both women indefinitely from all of its ballparks for breaking the fan code of conduct. Their explanation: promoting ShagMag and raising awareness of breast cancer, with proceeds going to help women pay their medical bills. Lauren said afterwards that she knew they would be banned and would do it again.

After the ban

The stunt brought huge media coverage, from CBS Sports to the international press, and a big jump in followers. She kept working with ShagMag and runs a paid subscription page alongside her social accounts.
