Sydney Thomas

Most people discovered Sydney Thomas in a split second. On 15 November 2024 she worked as a ring girl at the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight, broadcast live on Netflix to tens of millions of viewers, and a single shot of her walking the ring went around the internet within hours.

Before the fight

Sydney is American, born on 26 November 2003, and was a student at the University of Alabama when the fight happened. She had been posting on TikTok and Instagram since 2021, mostly lip-syncs, dance clips and day-in-the-life vlogs, and already had a solid following. Nothing, though, compared to what came next.

Going viral overnight

The TikTok she posted about the night passed 15 million views in five days, the most-watched video she had ever made. By 20 November 2024 her Instagram had climbed to around 677,000 followers and her TikTok to almost a million. Memes, reaction videos and interviews followed, and “the Tyson ring girl” became a search term of its own.

What she posts now

She kept doing what she was doing before, only with a much bigger audience: fashion and lifestyle content and short videos. Her accounts are on Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat under the name iamsydneythomas.
